Having the Museum of Fine Artes located so close to school this wasn't my first trip there. We started off our tour with the egyptian exhibit. Looking at all the different artifacts and tomb's one could begin to understand how important the after life was to them. Moving on we traveled to the greek area. The difference in art was easily seen. The greeks look to the gods and have art displaying myths. Using sculptures they created molds of the human form. Moving forward we moved on too paintings instead of sculptures.
Getting to the paintings we started analyzing gothic art. Gothic art in done is a certain manner. Not displaying any facial figures and following the same two-dimensional forms it can easily be identified. Going on we moved to renaissance paintings. Unlike gothic renaissance begins to explore perspective. Looking into the human figure they begin to have facial expressions. Overall the trip to the museum was a nice way to see the different era's in art all displayed in a common area.
